The wonderful region of Tuscany on the western coast of Italy has lots to offer tourists and is a favourite of many visitors from all over the world. Known for its high quality holiday villas and farmhouse rentals (most with private pools) set in the glorious landscapes, it is certainly not a pile them high type of package holiday destination. Other tourists choose to stay in quality apartments and town houses in one of the many quaint towns or villages.

With loads to see or do it is difficult to know where to begin, for many just lazing by the swimming pool in the hot Tuscan sun or walking through the picturesque countryside is the key to a relaxing break away from it all holiday. To other visitors, touring the many historic sites, villages and cities or even maybe, a few of the local vineyards, (with a few free samples of course) is the mainstay of an enjoyable break.

The long history of Tuscany is all around for everyone to see from Roman relics, medieval forts,Tuscany Attractions to wonderfully preserved Renaissance architecture all through the whole region and the many world famed towns and cities. There is literally hundreds of local museums and art galleries displaying the oil paintings, sculpture and the local heritage of its historic past.

Pisa on its own is a major destination in its very own right, with lots more to see than the famous Leaning Tower, certainly one of the most photographed icons in the entire world. Pisa is a joy, just to stroll round and it still possible to observe monuments from a past age side by side with pavement bars and restaurants where the local populace congregate to enjoy delicious fare.

The local real estate market especially at the top end is still very buoyant, with many of the citizens of Italy and all of Europe aspiring to aquire a villa or home in Tuscany. This can be viewed in the prices of the Tuscany property, the old days of being able to pick up a snip that needed renovation for a bargain price are long gone.

The Tuscany cuisine is a delight with numerous restaurants, bars and pavement cafes serving good food and Italian wine for very reasonable prices. If you can get away from the main tourist haunts and dine with the locals, you will be certain to find premier class service and fine food, served by very friendly waiters.

Touring is easy with most people driving to Tuscany from all around Europe or flying in via Pisa Airport (Galileo Galilei International) which is increasingly employed by the big budget airlines (for the best value you should book as early as you can).
