The beautiful volcanic island of Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain is certainly one of the most popular destinations in Europe, if not the whole world. The climate and weather is perfect throughout the entire year (it is after all just about fifty miles from the African continent) and so is equally as popular as a winter tourist destination. Take the warm African sunshine, add some European political stability, delightful Spanish culture and you get what many see as the ultimate of tourist destinations on Fuerteventura.

Fuerteventura will not disappoint the beach lovers, all over the island many miles of gorgeous sand dunes descend to fine golden sand beaches, and so whether you choive is a busy resort or secluded, peaceful bay, you will not be far distant from your ideal spot. The more popular Fuerteventura beaches have all the typical facilities, such as sunbeds, sunshades and snack and refeshment bars, enough to keep the most avid sun bather happy.

The consistent cooling sea breezes and clear seas of the Atlantic Ocean, have made Fuerteventura a mecca for water sports tourists, especially the wind surfers who arrive from all over the Europe to enjoy the perfect conditions there. Other sports and boat tours can be located at the various ports and marinas around the Fuerteventura coast, for the experts or just for family fun, many of them can be pre booked locally.

The resort towns of Fuerteventura offer something for all, from the bigger ones such as the lively Corralejo built round the old fishing town and port in the north to the more relaxed purpose built tourist resorts found mainly in the south such as Morro Jable, the choice is plentiful.

Accommodation is abundant and varies enough to suit all tastes and pockets, hotels of high quality abound in all the resorts of Fuerteventura together with apart-hotels, holiday villas and self catering apartment complexes. Facilities vary according to price paid, so should be verified prior to booking your holiday on Fuerteventura. Almost without any exceptions they all have bathing pools from which most tourists never stray from other than to eat or get a drink.

Of course a big part of any vacation is eating out and Fuerteventura will not be found wanting in this department, fine restaurants, small cafes, takeaways, and local bars serving fresh food can be found almost everywhere to suit all tastes and pockets. Night time entertainment is offered by lots of the bars and the larger Fuerteventura towns have dance clubs and discos for the younger or even, older generation.

Many package style holidays can be booked for Fuerteventura or alternatively an ever increasing number choose to book on the web directly, their own flights (or sometimes via Fuerteventura ferries sailing from the Spanish mainland ports) and hotels separately, sometimes with very big savings, so it is certainly worth checking.

For those that can actually tear themselves away from the swimming pool or beach there are many other day trips, tourist attractions or other sports to be taken throughout Fuerteventura including, golf courses, horse rides, hiking and an animal zoo or just an afternoon tour of the interior of this wonderful island.
